Leaving both traditional office meeting rooms and previous soundproof pods far behind, Framery's new innovation-packed Smart Pods deliver greater user benefits, are more sustainable, designed to improve over time, and cost less than the models they replace.

Over the next few months we'll be taking a look at some of the innovative technology Framery is using to offer user-friendly meeting and working solutions.

Lighting and ventilation 

The new Framery smart pod generation takes technology and design inspiration from the automotive industry. The millimetre-wave radar sensors in the pods are based on the advanced proximity radars used in autonomous driving systems.

Further innovation comes in the form of Framery's patented ventilation technology. Users can select direct or indirect airflow, provided by ceiling-mounted radial fans designed to provide ventilation with minimal sound both inside and outside the pod.

The smart pod automatically adapts to surrounding conditions, optimising airflow direction and intensity based on incoming air temperature and humidity and the number of people inside. The air is fully changed every 60 seconds on average throughout the entire range of smart pods.

Lighting is another area where the smart pods offer the optimal working environment. The light colour temperature is 4000K, with a brightness level of 500 lux: a combination shown to contribute to a more comfortable, productive and visually appealing place to work. Benefits of this lighting level - similar to early-morning or late-afternoon sunshine from a south-facing window - include improved visibility, mood enhancement, and support for natural circadian rhythms.

The pods also feature pre-set lighting modes that are fine-tuned and adjusted for video calls. Users can control every aspect of lighting and ventilation via the pod's high-resolution touchscreen, letting them make their own preferred adjustments to fit any scenario.
