Master Oak is the latest generation of melamine and HPL panelling from Unilin Panels with lifelike natural oak design.
The result of several years of research and development, Master Oak features a genuine appearance that’s inseparable from the original. Combining the look and feel of natural oak with the unbeatable quality, durability and easy maintenance of HPL and melamine, the six ready-to-use designs are an impressive step forward in decorative panelling.
“Developing UNILIN Master Oak took a lot of effort,” says R&D Director Caroline Van de Populiere. “Achieving a natural look and feel with melamine and HPL was necessarily a process of trial and error. But the results are impressive with a matt finish that delivers a luxurious appearance and has a unique pattern – just like genuine oak. That natural look is enhanced even more by the different types of pores and depth variations.”
What’s more, UNILIN Master Oak transcends the performance of wood, offering a surface finish that requires very little on-going maintenance, that’s scratch-resistant, stainproof and colourfast. Ideal for use in offices, hotels, retail, restaurants, bars, schools and other heavy-duty environments, Master Oak is suitable for virtually all interior applications. Besides Light Natural, Natural, Double Fumed and Brown, this unique structure also comes in two plain colours, black and white. Master Oak can be supplied on different materials: melamine faced panels, HPL (standard format and door format) and shelving.
Unilin Panels makes Master Oak from 100% recovered wood, 90% of which is from post-consumer sources such as unwanted furniture and building wood and more. An advanced sorting and cleaning processes, leading in the sector, sees all impurities from the wood separated using a combination of techniques. Development of the process has seen Unilin Panels invest some €40m over the last six years, succeeding in giving more than a million tonnes of wood an extra life every year.
